1. How do you think your English writing skills have improved after completing this Wix e-portfolio? (You can talk about your improvement in these aspects: vocabulary, grammar, writing skills, motivation and confidence in writing, and interaction with peers.)

Because I have to post my essays/journals on the Wix e-portfolio and the works will be viewed by many peers, which motivates me to write the essay more carefully and improves my writing skills. And the interaction with peers has also gone better compared with last semester, their responses have been more enthusiastic.

 

     2. What do you think about creating the Wix e-portfolio for the final essay drafts?

I think this is the step for us to show our works in a more formal way, and the essay can be preserved on the internet instead of just a paper read by the instructors.

 

    3. What do you think about creating the Wix e-portfolio for journal writing and commenting?

In my opinion, this is a very interesting interaction with both classmates and other school students. From the journals, we can know each other’s thoughts and recent lives. Perhaps we have the same interests, ideas, and even conditions. The comment box below the Wix e-portfolio helps us to communicate with people. We can exchange our ideas over there. I have received classmates’ comments before, and that really made my day.

 

    4. Do you think that journal writing should be conducted in the same way as essay writing (i.e., Draft 1, peer review, Draft 2, conferencing, and Draft 3 on Wix)? Why or why not?

No, that is not a necessary step. Because no one will keep rewriting or improving their journals again and again as far as I know. Journals only need to be written down only once time to in memory of our thoughts toward lives.

 

   5. What did you benefit from TA feedback after you posted each final essay draft and journal on your Wix e-portfolio? (TA feedback was presented via Excel file and PPT slides).

When I forgot some steps (like how to add a comment box below the journals), TA’s ppt slides can be very helpful. Also, from her feedback, I understand what kinds of errors or styles she doesn’t like and will avoid those errors.

 

   6. What did you benefit from conducting self-assessment and peer-assessment of the Wix e-portfolio in the second semester?

Some classmates create their Wix e-portfolio in a very fancy and aesthetic way, and I really appreciate their patience and creativity. Their works also motivate me to think about how to improve my website to be more appealing.

 

   7. How did this Wix e-portfolio enhance your skills other than writing?

I think Wix e-portfolio enhances our ability of creativity or design ability. For example, we can choose the pics and design the pages to be our own style. Some people like gentle styles, some people like fierce ones, and all these things can be seen on the website. The most important thing is how to create a website that has our own style because we may use it in the future.

 

   8. Overall, what did you benefit from creating and managing this Wix e-portfolio? How is it different from uploading your assignments on ecourse2?

The most obvious difference between uploading assignments on ecourse2 and the website is the preservation. Putting assignments on the website can be easily appreciated. The file has the possibility to be missing, but the works shown on the website will not have this kind of problem.

 

Challenges

1. What difficulties have you encountered in terms of creating and editing your Wix e-portfolio over these two semesters?

Actually, it is not difficult for me to create a website if I just design a website in a simple way. However, after watching the experts’ many design abilities and skills, I realize there are still lots of things I need to learn.

 

   2. Among all the difficulties mentioned above, what was the most challenging one? How did you handle this challenge?

I think the challenging things need to be conquered in the future? So far I do not have technical problems. The various skills of making the website in a more appealing way are the most challenging thing for me, and I will try to learn them during the summer vacation.

 

   3. Will you continue to use or write posts on this Wix e-portfolio in the future? Why or why not?

Perhaps I will if I have free time. Because it requires lots of time, and if the website will only be appreciated by only myself, I don’t have the motivation to do it.
