A Day on CCU’s Anniversary Celebration

October 29th was the date of CCU’s 32nd anniversary, and I was looking forward to it since many activities were held on that day, the fireworks display and the singing contest included. The day of the celebration was on slow-paced Friday, the coziest day of the weekdays, for that I do not have any class in the afternoon. Since there was still abundant time, before engaging in the school’s activities, I practiced dancing for around two hours with my classmates as the preparation for the kpop dancing club. The places equipped with mirrors are always occupied with the other school clubs in the afternoon and the evening of weekdays. Fortunately, it was vacant on that Friday afternoon, which provided us with a good chance to practice and examine carefully for each movement.

After finishing the practice, I ambled along the pathway to the dormitory of the undergraduate. The sunshine was bright and warm, and the weather was breezy and pleasant. Some leaves which had already turned from grassy-green to brown-orange floating delicately to the ground, as if they were the dancers on the stage. When passing through the parking lot, I glimpsed a gray or black object beside a flowerbed. I stopped by, squatted down, and tried to see what the object was. It turned out that the little thing was a lying-down tabby cat which was famous for the cuteness in our school. Indeed, it was so adorable that I could not help but play with it for a while.

Eventually, the ceremony of CCU’s anniversary celebration commenced in the evening. My friends and I arrived at the location before the opening; however, it was still too late to have the best view of appreciating the marvelous cheerleading squad performance. Nevertheless, we have the best vision of the fireworks display, the most magnificent show of the celebration, which was absolutely astonishing and impressive. The fireworks exploded in a beautiful shape each time, blooming like the glimmering radiant flowers and lighting up the darkness with blasting sound. The show even lasted for about seven minutes, which was far beyond my expectation!

The singing contest, another big-scale activity, was followed by the end of the fireworks display. It was kind of exciting, since there was a distance from the places where we attended the ceremony to the auditorium. Thankfully, my friend gave me a ride, and we surpassed a lot of students who were also on their way to the auditorium. Needless to say, the competition was awesome, too. What amazed me was that each competitor was deeply immersed in their performance, whether they sang well or not. None of them were frightened of the stage. They were like the stars, shining on the stage with confidence and glamor. Watching their performance brought such enjoyment, and I will attend the activities again without any hesitation if there is a chance in the next year.
